Author Guidelines

We welcome submissions that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practice in social innovation and community service programs. Below are the guidelines for preparing and submitting your manuscript.

  1. General Submission Requirements
    - Language: Manuscripts must be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia.
    - Originality: Submissions must be original work and not previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
    - Plagiarism: All submissions will be checked for plagiarism. Manuscripts with significant overlap with published works will be rejected.

  2. Manuscript Preparation
    Format:

    - File Type: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
    - Page Layout: Use A4 size paper, with 1-inch margins on all sides.
    - Font: Use Times New Roman, size 12.
    - Line Spacing: 1,5 spaced.
    - Alignment: Justified text alignment.
    - Page Numbers: Number all pages consecutively.

    Structure:
    - Title Page: Include the title of the manuscript, author(s) name(s), affiliation(s), and contact information of the corresponding author.
    - Abstract: Provide an abstract of up to 250 words summarizing the research objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
    - Keywords: List 4-6 keywords relevant to the manuscript.
    - Main Text: Divide the main text into sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments (if any), and References.
    - Figures and Tables: Include figures and tables within the text where they are first mentioned. Each figure and table should have a caption.

  3. Citation and References
    Citation Style:
    Use the APA (American Psychological Association) citation style, 7th edition.

    In-Text Citations:
    - Single author: (Smith, 2020)
    - Two authors: (Smith & Jones, 2020)
    - Three or more authors: (Smith et al., 2020)

    Reference List:
    - Books:
      - Smith, J. A. (2020). Title of the Book. Publisher.
    - Journal Articles:

  4. Submission Process
    - Register: Authors must register on the journal's website to submit their manuscripts.
    - Login: After registration, log in to your account.
    - Submit: Follow the submission steps to upload your manuscript and provide all necessary information.

  5. Review Process
    - Initial Check: The editorial team will perform an initial check for suitability and adherence to guidelines.
    - Peer Review: Manuscripts that pass the initial check will be sent for double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
    - Decision: Based on reviewers' comments, the editorial team will make a decision (accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject).

  6. Post-Acceptance
    - Revisions: Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers' feedback.
    - Proofreading: Accepted manuscripts will undergo proofreading before publication.
    - Publication: Final versions of accepted manuscripts will be published online and indexed in relevant databases.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Research Articles

Scope: Original research articles that address innovative solutions to social issues through community service programs. This section welcomes empirical studies, theoretical papers, and methodological innovations.

Review Process: All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.

Length: Manuscripts should not exceed 8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.

Review Articles

Scope: Comprehensive reviews of the literature on topics related to social innovation and community service. These articles should provide critical analysis and synthesis of existing research, identifying gaps and proposing future research directions.

Review Process: Submissions are subject to a double-blind peer review process, with each manuscript reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.

Length: Manuscripts should not exceed 10,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.

Case Studies

Scope: Detailed descriptions of specific community service projects or programs that address social issues. These articles should include background information, implementation processes, outcomes, and lessons learned.

Review Process: Case studies undergo a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.

Length: Manuscripts should not exceed 5,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
